The Sydney Comics Guild holds workshops on the fourth Saturday of every month. Workshops are led by members with the aim of broadening skills in all aspects of the creative process, from writing and drawing to publishing and marketing. Most workshops are free, though some are paid. All workshops are held on the third floor of the Cosydney CoWorking building at 3 Blackfriars Street, Chippendale, Sydney.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Darth Vader; Elizabeth Bennett; Batman; Ms Marvel; Scott Pilgrim: a compelling character can elevate a story to a tale for the ages. But how do you create interesting three-dimensional characters that breathe, move and live? In this workshop, we’ll examine the building blocks of character development; play with different situations and environments, and look at what effect these things have on characters; and have a go at coming up with our own characters.
